COVID-19 has brought a halt to many industries across South Africa and the world.
In this present pandemic that we currently find ourselves in, is there anything positive to come out of the ashes?
Lockdown does not mean lockout of your companies Work Place Skills Plan implementation.
· If your company has submitted a Workplace Skills Plan, the implementation thereof is of significant importance for your Annual Training Report that needs to be submitted in 2021. What may have seemed far away, is now only 7 months away.
· What we at SEESA Skills Training have done is to make our training accessible to clients via Webinars that can be attended from a remote location. This will ensure the safety of your employees while at the same time upskilling them during this period. These Webinars can be accessed by the following link: https://training.seesa.co.za/Security/Login.aspx
· If you have not yet submitted your Work Place Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) there is a good chance that you may still do so as nearly 67% of The SETA`s (Sector Education Training Authorities) have given extensions until 31 May 2020.
Employers need to make full use of this opportunity as a successful submission not only opens the way for Mandatory Grant Funding but also plays a role in Discretionary Grant applications and BEE Ratings.
Employment Equity Plan Expiring soon? We are here to assist.
Lastly, we are also able to assist Designated Employers that need to compile new Employment Equity Plans, be it due to expiring plans or other reasons.
Once again the importance of training needs to be stressed here. As employers will soon be reporting on their Equity Movements in accordance with their Employment Equity Plans to the Department of Labour, upliftments or promotions as they are widely known, require the upskill of these employees.
Employees are the ones assisting your clients, even if it is remotely. Investing in their Skills Development now will be to the benefit of your company down the line. Not only will this give your company a competitive advantage over competitors but it will further create a sense of loyalty amongst your employees.
Should you need any further information feel free to contact your SEESA SDF.
