If your organisation pay more than R500 000 in salaries annually, it is compulsory to be registered and pay Skills Development Levies (SDL) to SARS.
Once the company pays SDL monthly, the company can apply for a Mandatory Grant in the form of a WSP and ATR to the relevant SETA.
If all the SETA requirements are fulfilled and the application is approved the company will receive 20% SDL back from the SETA in the form of a grant that is paid out quarterly.
Failing to submit the WSP and ATR reports to the SETA can negatively affect a company’s BEE rating.
