The outbreak and rapid spread of COVID-19 have caught everyone underprepared and uncertain on how to approach the lockdown period, the good news for SEESA Skills Training clients is that the majority of our client’s annual WSP (Workplace Skills Plan) and ATR (Annual Training Report) have been submitted by their Skills Development Facilitators, but if yours has not yet been submitted or you are unsure whether yours has been submitted there is still time to do so.
The final submission deadline is the 30th of April 2020. All SETAs have confirmed that they will be operational during the lockdown and all SEESA Skills Development Facilitators are equipped to be fully functional while working from home during this time.
What does your SDF require to complete a successful submission for your business?
- An up to date employee profile;
Use Profile WEB for a no-hassle process.
- Proof of implemented training;
This includes internal and externally implemented training.
- Proof of external training can be invoiced detailing the names of training delegates, attendance registers or certificates.
- If you have implemented internal training but do not have record thereof, please contact your SDF to guide you in reporting on this correctly.
- A Bank letter dated no longer than 3 months ago;
Some SETAs require proof of banking details to be submitted in order to finalise the submission.
- A signed SDF appointment letter;
This would have been sent to you by your SDF and is required to grant your SDF access to the SETA online reporting system.
- A signed authorisation page.
Once your SDF has access to the online system they will send you, an authorisation page for sign off, this authorises your SDF to submit the WSP/ATR to the SETA.

It is reasonable to foresee that health and hygiene will become a vital training requirement in all business environments after this pandemic and SEESA is proud to have updated our long-standing Health and Hygiene course to cover challenges raised by COVID-19, it is highly suggested to act pro-actively and implement this as soon as possible.
Why should your company implement Skills Development and submit their annual WSP/ATR?
- A successful WSP/ATR submission results and mandatory grant paid out by the SETA to your company;
- Approved credit-bearing courses can result in further discretionary grant payments;
- A successful WSP/ATR submission might positively impact your company’s BEE rating;
- An upskilled workforce is proven to be more efficient, loyal and motivated.
Should you need any further information, please feel free to contact your SEESA SDF.
